That thing looks as green as grass, you’re telling me it tastes like a chai frappuccino??
Yup. Swear to god.
Because of my constant trouble with breastfeeding, I’ve been taking lecithin daily, for months now. I’m not a fan of soy anything, so I opt for the sunflower lecithin, but in the doses I have to take it, we’re talking about 12-16 horse pills of that shit a day. No thanks. So instead, I take 1 tablespoon of the powder a day. But I have to hide it in something, because the taste grosses me out.
Enter the smoothie! Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you know about the whole green smoothie trend. I’m fully on board. If I’m going to liquefy some fruits, I might as well liquefy a few veg to balance it out, right? So I always add greens, and sometimes a few bonus supplements in there.
Anyway, remember that Chai Concentrate I shared my recipe for, a few weeks back? Well, I don’t just make Chai lattes with it! My favourite thing in the world is to make a smoothie with it, and with the strong taste of the spices, the greens just disappear. Well, their taste does. Obviously not the colour. And since spinach is really, really good for you, then you’re just doing due diligence by drinking this rich, creamy smoothie up!
Trust me. You need to make this. Right now.
Banana Chai Green Smoothie
- 2 cups raw spinach, packed
- 1 banana
- 2/3 cup of chai concentrate
- 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice (I used homemade cashew milk, recipe coming soon!)
- 4-6 ice cubes
I think you know what to do. Dump it all in a blender and blend the shit out of it. This recipe serves two, but if you’re breastfeeding like I am, it serves one. Just sayin’.
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
Protein Powder (I use unflavoured hemp)
